The spearhead of Nelson's windward line at the Battle of Trafalgar was formed of three extremely powerful ships, all three-deckers carrying some 100 guns each.

The viewpoint here is alongside these ships, from left to right Neptune, Temeraire and Victory, offering a good view of the massed broadside cannon which were shortly to deal out such terrible destruction as this spearhead crossed through the Franco-Spanish fleet (the leading ships of which are visible in the distance). Victory carries Nelson's Vice-Admiral's flag at the fore masthead.
